Kristi Tedesco returns to 12 News
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A familiar face returns to Kansas’ #1 news team. On Monday, June 10, Kristi Tedesco will join 12 News as anchor of 12 News at Noon and 12 News at 4:00 p.m. on KWCH and KSCW. Tedesco, a Hays native, began her career in Topeka and Dodge City before joining KWCH as an anchor and reporter.

EF-2 Tornadoes Hit OKC Metro Sunday
Large hail and intensely strong winds made their presence known in the Plains on Sunday. Winds as high as 100 mph were reported Sunday afternoon in Kansas and hail as large as 3" in diameter in the city of Ellis. In addition to this, a tornado emergency was issued for Custer City, Oklahoma. This storm went on to produce a tornado outside of the Oklahoma City Metro. Two EF-2 tornadoes were confirmed in Oklahoma City during storm surveys on Monday.
Storm aftermath causes school closures, power outages
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - We’re tracking the aftermath of Sunday’s severe storms across Kansas. Classes at Newton’s Chisholm Creek Middle School are canceled this morning due to damage from the storms. The Russell School District, USD 407, has called off classes today because of the damage. Halstead-Bentley schools are also closed, and activities in the district are canceled until further notice.
