BISMARCK, ND, ( KXNET ) — 14-year-old Morgan Christensen is from Bismarck, and Make-A-Wish of North Dakota, Bismarck Parks and Rec, and Capital RV all worked together to make this wish a special one.
“We’re actually here, and it’s super exciting, that we are granting a wish to Morgan who is a 14-year-old girl who wished for a camper. And it’s actually really cool why she wanted to get a camper. She has wanted to, they go to Rochester quite often and she still has family out in Washington. So she wanted to be able to travel, part of it is a getaway. She’s even talked about possibly camping in her own driveway. So I think for her it’s going to be her own little oasis”, shared Heather Nelsen, a Make-A-Wish Volunteer.
“This is our second participation in a Make-A-Wish camper wish. And the Make-A-Wish foundation team and volunteers reached out to us to let us know this was happening and if we wanted to be part of it. We’re incredibly just proud to celebrate the strength and courage that Morgan has. And we would love to meet her and for our entire team to meet her. So we will be gifting her an annual pass and some overnight stays in any of our state parks,” commented Cody Schultz, the director of Bismarck Parks and Rec.
Morgan was led on a scavenger hunt to collect clues and pick up some much-needed camping supplies.
TSA preps for busy summer season, shares travel tips Her last stop was to pick up some pizza and make her way to what she thought was a picnic, but little did she know, a camper was waiting for her, along with her family.
“I’m really happy about it so I can get away from people because they get on my nerves. But, I mean I’m just excited. I’m kind of shaking a little bit,” exclaimed Morgan.
Morgan’s mom, Hannah, says that this all has been a blessing for their family.
“I just wanna say that this has been a very hard year, but it has been filled with blessings. And I want to thank North Dakota Make a wish. I want to thank Heather and Diedre and this community. Because it’s just simply amazing. And thank you for lifting up my daughter,” said Hannah.
Morgan and her mom plan to spend some time in the camper Wednesday night and enjoy some time together.
