BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — A nurse who has served the City of Bismarck for over two decades is seeking assistance after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.

Jamie is a Registered Nurse and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who has worked in Bismarck for 22 years, as well as a mother to two boys. Unfortunately, Jamie was recently diagnosed with Nut (Midline) Carcinoma cancer — a terminal, and aggressive variant of the disease that has forced her to take a leave of absence from work while she undergoes extensive treatments.

There is no cure for this cancer, and clinical trials are only available in Boston, Los Angeles, and Texas. Jamie has recently been accepted into a clinical trial in Los Angeles but will need to travel back and forth between California and North Dakota to give her the best chance of both surviving and spending more time with her family.

All funds donated to the campaign will go to paying for Jamie’s medical treatment costs, travel expenses to and from Los Angeles, and any living expenses that have accumulated since her diagnosis.
