    Police arrest man with handgun on the Brandywine

    BINGHAMTON, NY (WIVT/WBGH) – The Broome County Sheriff’s Office took a man into custody after he was seen running down the Brandywine with a handgun.

    On Monday, the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force says while on the Northside of Binghamton, an investigator noticed a man with a firearm.

    Police say the man fled, removed the firearm from his waistband, and was running down Brandywine Ave with a gun in his hand.

    Police say when he approached the railroad tracks, he threw the handgun and was taken into custody.

    32-year-old Dorian Rayson was arrested on charges of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, tampering with physical evidence, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

    Investigators were able to locate a loaded 45 caliber FN brand handgun and a high capacity 45 caliber handgun magazine.
