Woman found shot outside Shelby home identified
SHELBY, N.C. — A woman is dead after a fight ended in a shooting in Shelby on Monday night. The Shelby Police Department said the shooting happened on Live Oak Street in Shelby just before 8 p.m. Monday. After responding to calls about gunshots, police found a woman with a single gunshot wound lying in the front yard of a home.

DENVER – The Denver Volunteer Fire Department (DVFD) was the first in Lincoln County to start running medical calls, according to Chief James Flynn. This was back in 2001. “We saw there was a need to fill a gap in the service,” he said. “We approached EMS and automated external defibrillators (AEDs) were purchased. We’re now a big portion of that healthcare system as firefighters. Obviously, we’re not going to send a full-blown fire response to a difficulty breathing call.
