WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A look at some of the top stories for Friday, June 7, 2024:. Acid arrests - Wichita police arrested two 18-year-olds suspected of attacking a teen with acid. Yekira Hollins and Tayronnia West face aggravated battery charges in connection to the case. Records from the Sedgwick County Jail show Hollins posted a $150,000 bond, while West remains in custody.
Abilene City Commission approved T-intersection concept
The Abilene City Commission decided to approve the T-intersection design concept for the NW 14th Street and Van Buren Street intersection project being funded partly by the Kansas Department of Transportation 2023 fall cost share grant. City commission discuss letter of intent, choose bid to upgrade video equipment
The Abilene City Commission met for their first meeting of June last week. The commission approved a bid to upgrade the video equipment for their meetings and the Abilene Community Center and discussed a letter of intent involving the proposed sports complex. Commissioner Amy Meysenburg was not present at the meeting.
Task force finds drugs, cash at central Kansas home
SALINE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after a central Kansas drug bust. Early Monday morning, a joint operation between the Saline County Drug Task Force and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) found more than three pounds of various types of drugs at a Salina home, according to Salina Police Capt. James Feldman.
