The Healthy Minds survey in 2023 showed that over 60% of college students had at least one mental health issue, a 50% rise since 2013. However, only 23% of Asian students, 26% of Black students, and 33% of Latino students are likely to seek help from a mental health professional, compared to 46% of White students. This gap is largely due to the insufficient number of counselors who mirror the racial and ethnic diversity of their patients.
