Laporte community supports couple facing health crises
To say that Barb and Gary Benson of Laporte are facing serious health challenges — would be an understatement. Last year Barb began her fight with breast cancer but went into remission in February. Cass County Dive Team has new vehicle; master gardener program update
The Cass County Dive Team’s purchase of a vehicle to transport equipment and the Master Gardener Program were both discussed at the May 7 County Board meeting. The Board moved to accept grant funds from the Soil and Water Conservation District of $77,000 for the new equipment. The Pine River Garden Club will host its annual plant sale in conjunction with the Pine River Farmers’ Market May 24 from 2:30-5:30 p.m. at the Pine River Depot on Highway 371, south of the traffic light on the west side. UCC Coffee House Concert supports Paws and Claws
A concert at the Community Church of Walker (UCC) will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. featuring Linda and Ken Barber. Complimentary coffee and treats will be provided! All donations from a free will offering will go to Paws and Claws in Hackensack. They are a no-kill, 501(c)3 nonprofit animal shelter and boarding facility. Mike Randolph named head coach at Northern Lakes High School
