Missouri Valley Boys and Girls Golf Teams Sweep Audubon
(Logan, IA) – At the Logan-Magnolia Missouri Valley Country Club, the Missouri Valley boy’s and girl’s golf teams were able to take wins over Audubon on Thursday evening. The boys won 162-169 while the girls were able to score 246 for the Lady Reds. The boy’s medalist was Missouri Valley’s Jackson Tennis with 37 while Evan White shot a 39 for the Big Reds. On the other end, the Missouri Valley girls swept the side with Henley Arbaugh winning as the medalist with a 45 while Addy Vogel earned runner-up with a 56. You can find all the results below.
Portion of 210th Street in Audubon County to Close for Bridge Repairs
(Audubon Co) The Audubon County Engineer’s Office says 210th Street will be closed to thru traffic between Quail Avenue and Robin Avenue for bridge repairs beginning Monday, April 22nd. The road will remain closed until bridge repairs are complete.
Audubon FFA members talk mission trip with GoServ Global
This past winter, members of the Audubon FFA chapter went on a mission trip to Liberia with GoServ Global to help build homes for those who are in need of shelter. GoServ Global provides support to all people who are in need, and a lot of that support comes in the form of Sukup Safe T Homes, which are made from grain bins. Audubon FFA members Addie Hocker, Colton Hansen, Kerrigan Larsen, and Edward Miller were at Iowa FFA Convention and took the time to explain what their trip was like. Hocker said she enjoyed the opportunity to observe how people over there live their lives.
Freeze Warning and Frost Advisories Issued for Southwest Iowa
(Area) A Freeze Warning is in effect from 1:00 to 8:00 a.m. Friday for Audubon, Cass, Harrison, Shelby, Pottawattamie and Montgomery counties. The National Weather Service says sub freezing temperatures as low as 30 degrees is expected. Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Atlantic’s Newest Police Officer Sworn In
(Atlantic) Atlantic Mayor Grace Garrett administered the Oath of Office to new Atlantic Police Officer Kelby Smith at Wednesday’s City Council meeting. Smith was hired full-time with the Atlantic Police Department in April 2024. Kelby has been a member of our reserve unit since 2020. He graduated from CAM High School and has spent most of his life in Cass County. He has a previous background in public safety as a full-time EMT and a member of the Adair Fire Department. Kelby is married with three children and stays active, attending their sporting and special events. In his spare time, he enjoys working out and being outdoors.
