    Missing Athens woman with dementia found

    Update, 4:24 p.m. — Judy Ann Johnston was found safe, according to the Athens Borough Police Department.


    ATHENS, Pa. ( WETM ) — Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for an Athens woman with dementia who went missing on Monday night.

    According to the Athens Borough Police Department , Judy Ann Johnston walked away from her home in Athens Borough at about 7 p.m. on May 13 and has not returned. Johnston is 5’3″ tall, weighs about 170 pounds, has long straight gray/white hair, and has green eyes. An image of Johnston can be seen below.

    Johnston was wearing a light-colored peach/pink t-shirt, light-colored sweatpants, and sneakers at the time she went missing. She was not wearing her glasses when she was last seen, and she does not have any identification on her.

    Police say that Johnston was last seen walking south on North Elmira Street. The police later received a tip that said she was seen walking north on Route 220 (in the direction of Waverly) near the 199 entrance at about 8:15-8:30 p.m. on Monday.

    Judy is in the late stages of dementia and might talk about how she wants to visit her brother or her late mother. She is in good shape and can walk quickly.
