Storm brings ominous clouds, large hail to eastern Nebraska
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A storm system brought ominous clouds and damaging hail to the Omaha metro on Wednesday night. 6 News received several viewer-submitted photos of Wednesday’s storm. Some reported hail as large as golf balls, while others sent in photos of piles of hailing almost appearing as snow in areas north of Omaha.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Dust storms were swirling in central Nebraska on Wednesday. High winds blew dry soil around, limiting visibility in some locations, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said. “Please slow down and prepare to stop if necessary in these areas,” the agency said on Facebook.

WWII veteran receives dying wish for 43rd Army Band to play at his funeral
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A World War II veteran who grew up in Lincoln received his dying wish to have the Nebraska National Guard’s 43rd Army Band play at his funeral. Bill Splichal was the first leader of the 43rd Army Band for 27 years. It was established in 1948 and currently has 37 members who perform around the state and country.
