Three 7-Eleven stores hit by suspects who made off with cash registers in SoCal
Authorities this weekend were investigating three robberies at 7-Eleven locations in Southern California. Deputy Meza with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Information Bureau says all three incidences involved four suspects jumping over the counters and making off with multiple cash registers from each location.The first incident unfolded around 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 14300 block of Artesia Boulevard in Bellflower. No weapons were used and no significant damage was reported. The suspects fled in a black sedan. Twenty minutes later, a second 7-Eleven was hit in the 5800 block of Bellflower Boulevard. The third incident unfolded just before 4:30 a.m. in the 2600 block of Carson Street in Lakewood. It remains unclear if the same suspects were involved in all three incidents, nor whether all three incidents were at all related. No other details were immediately available.

(AP) — A teenager was taken into custody after a crowd of young people swarmed a deputy’s patrol car earlier this month, kicking and punching the vehicle before the deputy could drive away, a California sheriff’s office said this week. The 15-year-old male allegedly opened the driver’s door of the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department vehicle and attempted “to overtake the deputy and his patrol unit,” at a Highland intersection, according to a statement released Thursday. The juvenile was arrested at his home in Menifee on suspicion of attempted carjacking and felony vandalism. The deputy was able to close the door and drive away from the encounter shortly after midnight May 11. Video footage obtained by detectives shows an unruly crowd pounding on the deputy’s window and kicking the vehicle, leaving its front windshield cracked.
