Traffic: Eastman Lane on UMass Amherst campus closed due to sinkhole

AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – Eastman Lane in Amherst is closed Wednesday afternoon as crews investigate a sinkhole that has formed on the road.

According to UMass Police, Eastman Lane has been closed from the Lot 44 area to East Pleasant Street until further notice. Jersey barriers have been placed on the road to prevent traffic from driving in that area.

Police say crews are investigating a sinkhole and determining the extent of the work that will need to be done to repair it. There is no word on when this portion of Eastman Lane will reopen.
