    Altoona group needs your help to ‘take out the trash’ and clean up the city

    ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Redd Up Altoona Foundation is kicking off the ‘Redd Up season’ with a community clean-up event.

    The second annual “ BIGGIN ‘” Altoona cleanup will take place Saturday, May 11. It kicks off at 9 a.m. at Heritage Plaza in downtown. From there, volunteers will move out and clean up the city.

    Anyone interested in volunteering can show up at the plaza by 9 a.m. The group said that all equipment, including gloves, vests, bags, and a limited number of grabbers, will be provided.

    The group added that youth between 12 and 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult. No children under 12 will be permitted to help.
