Gloria Gates Care hosts grand opening of new Altoona clinic

ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — With a grand opening on Thursday, the Gloria Gates Care and the Altoona Housing Authority are bringing healthcare straight to patients.

A health clinic opened inside the Green Avenue Towers in Downtown Altoona on Thursday, April 18. The idea behind the clinic was to find a way to open access to care to those in need. It’s something that Dr. Zane Gates says is hard to find, especially for low-income patients and those on Medicaid.

“To see a doctor and call the office. A lot of practices are not taking Medicaid patients, and transportation’s usually a very big issue,” Gates said. “We provide transportation but we bring it right to where they live, giving them the right care at the right place at the right time.”

“Essentially we eliminate about a one third of the administrative hassle so we’re able to take that money that we would’ve wasted on administrative hassle and provide more and better services,” Donny Beaver, CEO and Co-Founder for Gloria Gates Care said.

They added the clinic provided full services and will help with transportation for patients who need more care.
