    A new bus service will connect Lehigh Valley with New York, Newark, Philadelphia

    FlixBus, the parent company of Greyhound Lines, is beginning intercity service from Allentown effective Thursday.

    The new service will connect the Lehigh Valley with the Port Authority in New York City; Newark Penn Station in Newark, New Jersey; and 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. Passengers will be picked up and dropped off at the Allentown Transportation Center at 112 N. Sixth St.

    FlixBus is a German company that offers low-cost service around the globe and is expanding its North American market.

    “We are excited to bring our affordable and comfortable travel options to Allentown and the surrounding areas,” said Gary Yeung, junior manager of network planning for FlixBus. “Our goal is to connect people and cities, and we are thrilled to add Allentown to our growing list of destinations. We are confident this new service will provide a convenient and affordable travel option for those exploring the region and beyond.”

    FlixBus said passengers can enjoy comfortable and modern buses equipped with free Wi-Fi, power outlets and onboard entertainment. Its fleet of buses are equipped with the latest environmentally friendly technology.

    FlixBus plans to add routes and destinations in the coming months throughout the U.S.

    Customers can book travel with FlixBus and Greyhound on either brand’s website or app, reaching more than 2,300 destinations across North America. FlixBus tickets can be purchased at flixbus.com .
