Amazon covering adoption fees at Animal Welfare League of Alexandria for one day only

ALEXANDRIA, Va. ( DC News Now ) — On Tuesday, you can swing by the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria to adopt a furry friend — free of charge.

The organization said that the event will last from noon to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7. Any adult dogs, cats or small mammals (meaning 6 months or older) are eligible for the offer.

Amazon is covering the fees in honor of “Amazon’s Pet Day” — which runs for 48 hours from May 7 to 8. Organizers said that this special from Amazon includes deals on pet products — “the perfect opportunity to get your new companion all the supplies they’ll need to live a happy and healthy life.”
