The art of Tom Kutschied featured at Aitkin’s Jaques Art Center
The art and talent of Longville artist Tom Kutschied will be featured at a reception at the Jaques Art Center in Aitkin on Saturday, March 2nd from noon to 3 p.m. A second reception will be held April 6th from 3 to 5 p.m. The theme “From Sea to Shining Sea” will feature nearly 70 original works of art by Kutschied for sale and viewing. Meet and greet with Tom, shop and enjoy refreshments and an artist talk. The Jaques is open from Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. Tom’s works will be on display from March 1 through April 20th.
Northwoods Wildlife Rescue is March 5 HCLL program
PARK RAPIDS — Julie Dickie with the Northwoods Wildlife Rescue will present a program during the Headwaters Center for Lifelong Learning Tuesday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Event Room, 1104 Park Avenue South. The Northwoods Wildlife and Rehabilitation is a nonprofit 501c3 with a mission of rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife and returning the wildlife to the wild whenever possible. “We look forward to opportunities to talk about living in harmony with our beautiful and abundant wildlife here in the Northwoods,” Dickie stated. “Recent arrivals have included a red fox, an eagle and a pine marten.” The program is open to the public, free of charge and handicap accessible.

Wolf of the Week: Avery Morrison, Feb. 12-17
Avery Morrison continues to show great leadership both on and off the court for Walker-Hackensack-Akeley. She averaged 14 points and four assists in leading the girl’s team to two conference wins. She is also a strong defender who is tasked with guarding the opponent’s best player each night. Avery was recently named to the National Honor Society and is a 4.0 student. She is also a great mentor for future Wolves’ youth players.
