Locals advance to district tournaments at boys tennis sectionals
Division I boys tennis players gathered in Findlay and Fremont and Division II competitors met in Port Clinton and Bryan this week for sectional tournament action, determining the qualifiers for the upcoming district tournaments. Findlay hosted two D-I sections. In Section 1, St. Francis’ Nick Miller was the singles champion. Other district qualifiers in singles included Anthony Wayne’s Ian Briars, Whitmer’s Sam Just, and Findlay’s Owen Vick. Anthony Wayne’s Logan Sutto and Brody Sutto captured the Section 1 doubles title and will be joined at the district tournament by Findlay’s Sam Swisher and Owen Miller, St. Francis’ Lucas Toma and Owen Little, and AW’s Will Black and Geyer Tollstam. In Section 2, local qualifiers for districts in singles included Whitmer’s Aiden Bellman and Parker Moell and Bowling Green’s Caleb Goff.

Tornado warning expires for portions of Wood, Hancock counties
The National Weather Service out of Cleveland’s tornado warning for southwestern Wood County and northwestern Hancock County has expired. “The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer appears capable of producing a tornado,” the NWS online update states.
