Colonial Forge battles back to defeat Riverbend
Colonial Forge football coach Earl Moore saw what happened the last time the Eagles faced Riverbend. The first-year head coach watched the 2025 contest on film and noticed the Bears' physical dominance. "They came out here and whooped us," Moore said of Forge's 41-27 defeat. This time, though, the Eagles had a different response, cruising to a dominating 29-16 Commonwealth District home victory, even after they found themselves in an early hole. "I'm really proud of how this team responds," Moore said. "We fell down early again, but something about this group, they always seem to come back and not get rattled by that stuff." Similar to last week's matchup against Brooke Point, the Eagles (7-1, 5-0 Commonwealth) found themselves trailing early. A long opening kickoff return by Riverbend set up a 38-yard touchdown run from Adrien Picot, putting the Bears (6-2, 3-2) on the board first. "I thought we came out really strong," Picot said. "Our offense was rolling early, I'm not sure what happened." Colonial Forge put together a solid drive but had to settle for a field goal. On the next Riverbend possession, Picot struck again, finding the end zone on a 61-yard pass from quarterback Josh
