JASPER COUNTY, Mo. ( KOAM) — Joplin storm sirens sounded just after 1:30 p.m. LEO-FIRE spotted a looming storm cloud with rotation near Airport Drive. NWS issued a Tornado Warning as a Thunderstorm at 1:41 p.m. capable of producing a tornado near Airport Drive. Radar indicated rotation soon after. Expired 2:15 p.m.

Pittsburg, KS – The SEK highway 69 Strategic Alliance hosted a meeting to discuss plans for the bypass on Highway 69. One option is to expand the current bypass, which many of the residents in attendance were in favor of. Another is a plan to create a new bypass west of the current one in Crawford County.
