Joplin police offers free wheel locks for Kia, Hyundai owners

JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) -- The Joplin Police Department offers free wheel locks to certain local vehicle owners.

According to the Joplin Police Department Facebook page , wheel locks will be available to certain Kia and Hyundai vehicles in an effort to help stop vehicle thefts in Joplin.

The department says the wheel locks are being distributed in response to a nationwide increase in the number of incidents involving thefts of Kia and Hyundai vehicles.

The Joplin Police Department says if your vehicle is listed, come to the department lobby and bring proof of ownership showing you own one of the qualifying vehicles.
