VERNON HILLS, Ill. (CBS) — A married couple was found dead inside a home in Vernon Hills Wednesday morning. Vernon Hills police said just before 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a single-family home in the 400 block of Cherry Valley Road for a report of two people dead inside the residence.
Illinois woman sentenced to 3.5 years for transporting drugs on I-80 in Seward County
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A woman was sentenced Monday after she and three other women were caught transporting drugs on I-80 in Seward County in 2022. A judge sentenced Jennilee Janae Velez, 22, of Addison, Illinois, to 3.5 years in prison for conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine and a quantity of oxycodone. Once she is released from prison, she will begin a two-year term of supervised released.
