Fairfax girl shot dead in her sleep; schools step up security
FAIRFAX, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A 14-year-old girl was shot and killed while sleeping inside her home in Fairfax, the Allendale County Coroner’s Office said Sunday. The coroner said the girl was pronounced dead around 1:47 a.m. Saturday after a shooting that came from outside the house on Bayshore Drive.

GBI Investigates Fatal Shooting in Millen, Georgia After Argument Turns Deadly
A fatal gunfight erupting from a heated argument claimed the life of a Georgia man, authorities said. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is probing the death of Robert Lamar Herrington, 39, who was fatally shot on a street in Millen, a town roughly 50 miles south of Augusta. According to a statement on the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Herrington and another man, whose name has not been released, were reportedly involved in an altercation prior to the exchange of gunfire on Corbett Street.
