Body found on Hunter Street in Augusta is that of missing man
AUGUSTA (WJBF) – On April 18th, at 7:40pm, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1600 block of Hunter Street about a deceased person. Upon arrival, Deputies located a deceased adult male. He has been identified as 80-year-old Roy Jones who was reported missing April 15th. No foul play is expected.

A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle Thursday morning while walking on Deans Bridge Road in Augusta. Near record breaking heat today! Augusta Bush Field made it to 88 degrees, which is three degrees shy of the record set back in the 1800s. Some towns in the CSRA made it to 90 degrees! Tonight will stay warm and dry, until we see some showers and storms move in overnight. Lows will be in the low to mid 60s with a 30% chance of rain. That chance of rain continues all day Friday with highs similar to today, in the upper 80s. The CSRA is under a marginal risk (level 1/5) of severe weather for tomorrow. There is a low chance of damaging wind gusts and hail.
