Upcoming ride set to celebrate female bikers
Muncy, Pa. — Female bikers in the region will come together to celebrate women who motorcycle as part of International Female Ride Day this May. International Female Ride Day is a worldwide celebration taking place annually on the first Saturday in May. The day recognizes women's passion, skill, and dedication to motorcycling and motorsports, according to the Motoress website. This year, The Riverwalck Saloon, located at 8 Centre St, Palmerton, will honor the event will live music, vendors, food and drinks and more. Departing from a meeting area in Muncy, female riders have a chance to come together and ride to the venue. Riders should meet at 10 a.m. at Sheetz at 45 Muncy Creek Blvd, Muncy, on Saturday, May 4.
Man charged with attempted homicide for Milton shooting
Milton, Pa. — A Sunbury man was arrested Friday and charged with criminal attempted homicide for a shooting that injured two people last week in Milton. Victhian Jovier Pitre-Rodriguez was taken into custody upon his discharge earlier today from Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, according to a release from Milton Borough Police Department. Police: Woman caught stealing from local grocery store
Williamsport, Pa. — A loss prevention officer reported multiple thefts to state police last week. Ciara Maisha Howell, 33, of Williamsport allegedly under scanned items through a self-checkout lane at Weis Market on River Avenue. She committed three thefts from the end of March to last week, Trooper Philip Kyle said. A receipt showed Howell stole $67 worth of groceries over the three trips to the same store, according to the complaint. The alleged stolen items included beef brisket, crab legs, chicken soup, and soda. Howell spoke with police on April 19 about the missing items. She allegedly confessed to stealing the groceries. Howell is being charged with second-degree misdemeanor retail theft. No bail is listed for Howell. Docket sheet
