Pandering obscenity involving a minor gets Zanesville man 8 years in prison
ZANESVILLE − A Zanesville man accused of sex crimes was recently sentenced in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court by Judge Kelly Cottrill. Charles E. Cawley, 43, was indicted in December with three counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, all second-degree felonies. He was sentenced to an aggregate indefinite term of 8 to 12 years in prison and must register as a Tier II sex offender for 25 years. He must serve a mandatory five years of post release control.
Searchers find body of man missing since January
CROOKSVILLE — On Wednesday, April 24, at around 1:15 p.m., the Perry County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and advised that Kaleb Russell had been discovered deceased in the crawl space beneath a home located at 700 Ceramic Road. Russell had been reported missing on Jan. 19. Deputies promptly responded to the scene and confirmed the presence of a deceased male, later positively identified as Russell. Russell’s body was discovered by volunteers aiding the family in the search for him. At the request of the family, an autopsy will not be performed, and his remains released to the family. No foul play is suspected. The Crooksville Police Department remains the lead investigating agency in the case. Reynoldsburg man receives jail time for getting high while child drowned
A man from Reynoldsburg was sentenced to two years in prison for using getting high on marijuana while his child drowned in a pool. Nicholas J. Pruneau, 40, of Reynoldsburg appeared in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court recently for sentencing. Judge Mark C. Fleegle sentenced Pruneau to 24 months behind bars for his crimes of felony child endangerment, felony reckless homicide and misdemeanor child endangerment.

COLUMBUS — All three Perry County schools moved up divisions to highlight the area changes, as the Ohio High School Athletic Association released the new numbers last week. Sheridan returns to Division III, Region 11, which includes John Glenn, Tri-Valley and Zanesville.
