Miller City High School’s 100th graduating class connect the past to the present
Miller City High School is set to hold its 100th graduation ceremony on Friday, May 17. Forty-one seniors will collect their diplomas as part of MCHS’s 100th graduating class. The first class graduated on May 15, 1925 from what was then known as Palmer High School. Palmer High School was renamed as Miller City High School in 1942.
Swanton man arrested, accused of trafficking cocaine, oxycodone, other drugs
SWANTON, Ohio — A Swanton man was arrested Tuesday on allegations of drug trafficking, according to law enforcement. In a press release issued Wednesday, the Multi-Area Narcotics Task Force said they conducted a several months-long investigation alongside crews from the Napoleon Police Department and the Henry County Sheriff's Office. The investigation resulted in the arrest of 40-year-old Andrew Moll, whom police charged with trafficking in drugs.
Fire at Bluffton home results in minimal damage
BLUFFTON — A fire that started in the basement of a Bluffton home resulted in minimal damage and no injuries on Wednesday morning. According to the Bluffton Fire Department, the damage to the home at 143 Sunset Drive was mostly due to smoke and could have been caused by an electrical problem. The single occupant made it out safely with no injuries as well as the pets.

DEFIANCE, Ohio (WPTA) - Police in Defiance, Ohio are tracking some unusual suspects Thursday afternoon. Officers shared on Facebook that they are looking to track down the owners of three missing cows that were spotted along Columbus Avenue earlier this afternoon. They say a concerned citizen called police and reported seeing the loose livestock.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Defiance Police Department shared a video of an officer rescuing a kitten from a storm sewer Wednesday evening. Officer Eric Rubio used a small rope to pull the kitten the kitten to safety. The department said they were proud of Rubio’s quick thinking.

OTTAWA – On the morning of May 11, 2024, Do-Right Motorcycle Club of Delphos, American Patriot Vanguard MC Ohio of Belmore, and Ottawa’s Well Grounded Cafe came together to host the first Annual Putnam County Blessing of the Bikes at the parking lot west of the Putnam Co. MILLER CITY — Miller City grabbed an early lead Tuesday night and finished strong in defeating Holgate 12-2 in a six inning Division IV sectional final contest. The win sends the Wildcats (14-6) to a Division IV sectional final contest Thursday opposite top seeded Leipsic at 5 p.m. at Leipsic. The Wildcats, who have won six straight games, are the seventh seed in the Patrick Henry district.

PAULDING – A five-run fifth inning by visiting Kalida proved to be the difference as the Wildcats doubled up host Paulding 8-4 Monday night in high school baseball play. Leading 1-0 entering the fifth, Kalida plated five runs in the visitors half of the fifth to extend the margin to 6-0.

Christopher Landwehr, 51, Cloverdale, appeared for sentencing on a charge of attempted disrupting public services, a fifth-degree felony; and aggravated menacing, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was placed on community control for five years with conditions, including that he serve 45 days in Putnam County Jail with work release (and credit for 24 days served while his case was pending), and complete any recommended counseling and treatment.
