A Busy Saturday for the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department
FAIRFIELD, NJ -- The Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department responded to multiple calls throughout the course of Saturday, April 27 and early Sunday, April 28. At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, the department was dispatched to a vehicle fire on Fairfield Avenue, where on arrival the blaze was found to be a contained in the passenger compartment of a pickup-truck.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER At approximately 8:45 p.m., the department was dispatched to Cole Road for a house fire. Upon arrival, it was found to be a small fire contained to a garbage can in the kitchen of a residence. At approximately 12:45 a.m. Sundat morning, the department was dispatched to Interstate 80 for a motor vehicle accident with a vehicle rolled over on to the center median of the highway. The passenger was able to self-extricate prior to arrival. Engine 3 quickly cleared the scene after securing the battery and ensuring there were no fluid hazards on the highway.
