Cullman man arrested following Berlin shooting incident
Updated April 27, 2024, at 1:46 p.m. CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office said a Cullman man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and firing into an occupied vehicle following an incident that happened in the Berlin community Friday, April 26. Deputies responded to the report of a shooting in the Berlin community on Friday, and while en route were informed that a victim had left the scene in a vehicle. The victim was located at a nearby business where deputies rendered aid until paramedics arrived. Additional deputies continued to the original scene of the alleged crime and located Kenneth Wade Bentley, 43, of Cullman. The CCSO said Bentley stated that the victim and two other individuals arrived at his residence earlier and an argument ensued. The argument allegedly escalated into an altercation ultimately resulting in Bentley shooting the victim. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
