Route 61 in Northumberland closed due to crash
Shamokin, Pa. — Motorists are advised that Route 61 is closed in both directions between Route 2020 (Mountain Road) and Route 487 in Ralpho Township, north of Shamokin Borough, Northumberland County, due to a vehicle crash with downed utilities. A detour using Mountain Road, Route 54, and Route 61 is in place. Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following local alerts on X. Crash on Route 147 closes all lanes in Northumberland County
NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Drivers can expect delays after a crash on Route 147 in Northumberland County on Friday evening. A tractor-trailer crash on the Central Susquehanna Valley Transportation (CSVT) River Bridge prompted Route 147, southbound, to close at the Route 1014 (Ridge Road) interchange in Point Township, Northumberland County.

Theft reported at churches in Herndon area
Herndon, Pa. — Police are investigating two separate theft incidents from churches near Herndon in Northumberland County. The first reported theft was between March 31 and April 7 at Zion Church on Main Street in Herndon. Trp. Lucas Roshannon of state police at Stonington says someone broke into the church and took $550 cash made up of various bill denominations and change. The unknown suspect also took 300 church donation envelopes. In a separate incident, an unknown suspect broke into St. Paul's United Church of Christ on Urban Road in Jordan Township sometime around April 20. The suspect smashed the window of an interior door and took $50 in canned good donations and $20 cash, according to Trp. Adams. Anyone with information may contact PSP Stonington at 570 286-5601.
Man charged with attempted homicide for Milton shooting
Milton, Pa. — A Sunbury man was arrested Friday and charged with criminal attempted homicide for a shooting that injured two people last week in Milton. Victhian Jovier Pitre-Rodriguez was taken into custody upon his discharge earlier today from Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, according to a release from Milton Borough Police Department.
