(Council Bluffs) A Council Bluffs man faces murder and weapons charges. The Council Bluffs Criminal Investigation Division arrested 30-year-old Dequanta R. Zachary in connection with the deaths of 36-year-old Deonte Ivory and 25-year-old Michael Anderson. Zachary faces charges of two counts of 1st-degree murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.

OMAHA, Neb. — Our active start to May will continue with rounds of storms as we head into the weekend and early next week. After a beautiful Friday afternoon an approaching cold front will increase storm chances into the overnight hours, especially after 10 p.m. A few storms could be on the stronger side. Council Bluffs Recycling Center removing Hy-Vee drop-off site
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) - The Council Bluffs Recycling Center is removing one of its drop-off locations after “repeated arson attacks and contamination issues.”. CBRC says the recycling drop-off bins at the Hy-Vee at 2323 West Broadway are being taken out. The center says the fires have posed a safety hazard, and that frequent contamination is rendering its efforts ineffective.
