Friends honor loved one’s life with memorial ceremony
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Substance abuse can be a trigger to mental health problems, and recovery for someone that’s an addict is also not an easy path. Hope Pearson was on her path to recovery until her death on May 8th. Friends gathered at Brickyard Park to honor Pearson who was 38 years-old, she was a recovering heroin addict and she had a son. But passed away at 38 years-old due to a fentanyl overdose.
‘Ker bang, bang bang!’ Hastings man describes impact of derecho that blew through
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Families were left picking up the debris after a strong wind storm called a derecho hit Central Nebraska on Thursday night. A derecho is a line of storms that is at least 60 miles long, and maintains wind gusts of at least 58 miles per hour for a distance of at least 400 miles. This system started in Western Nebraska and made its way to Central Iowa.
Roofing and tree removal in high demand in Hastings after storm
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Storms brought gusting winds Thursday night into Friday morning which left many residents with a lot of debris to clean up. Some residents experienced tree damage, loss of electricity, and damage to their roof. North Hastings saw the brunt of those overnight storms, as many roofing and tree removal companies were doing majority of their work in that area.
