After entering the ditch, the man exited the vehicle and produced a knife and hammer to law enforcement. After unsuccessful attempts to apprehend the man with "less lethal weapons," he fled the scene and traveled one mile before being located in a stock pond, still armed with the knife and hammer.
Watford City passes property tax exemption for new homes
WATFORD CITY, N.D. (KUMV) - Watford City officials approved a property tax exemption for homeowners moving into a newly built house. City Assessor Rita Olson said the exemption is available for single-family homes that began construction after March 1. The resolution takes $150,000 off the dwelling value of the home for property tax purposes for two years.
Anglers snagging big paddlefish to start season
WILLISTON, N.D. (KUMV) - Several anglers had already claimed their paddlefish tags as the harvest season began Wednesday morning. Hundreds of people are out at the Yellowstone-Missouri Confluence looking to reel in their annual fish. As of 9 a.m., nearly 20 fish were harvested with the largest so far weighing in at 117 pounds.
