Wind gusts up to 50 mph expected Monday
IDAHO FALLS -— Winds are expected to increase by early afternoon and could be as high as 50 mph in eastern Idaho. According to the National Weather Service in Pocatello, a wind advisory will be in effect on Monday from noon to midnight. There will be west winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected, the advisory says.
Busy Pocatello road partially shut down due to flooding
POCATELLO — The two outside lanes on North Main Extension have been closed due to flooding in the area, according to a news release from the city of Pocatello. The affected area is located near Kraft Road and the Portneuf River. Pocatello Police officers will continue to monitor the area until further notice. Drivers are encouraged to be cautious while driving in the area. They are also encouraged to drive a different route when possible. Drivers are warned not to drive into swift waters as Pocatello receives more rainfall. According to the news release, more rain is predicted to fall in the coming weeks, which could change the driving conditions on the roads. If any drivers need assistance, they can reach the Pocatello Police Department’s non-emergency dispatch line at 208-234-6100. If they need immediate assistance, they can call 911.
