    Wednesday, May 1Gate City Pride will host a Community Movie and Art Night from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at The Yellowstone Restaurant, 230 W. Bonneville St. in Pocatello. They will show the film “A Spell for a Queer Home,” followed by conversation, poetry, and a few other treats as well.

    7eighty5 Restaurant & Pub, 310 N. Meridian St. in Blackfoot, will host its monthly Wine-O Tasting from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1. Experience five wines and five accompanied bites for $25.

    Load ‘em in the Dark Cattle Company’s regular Wednesday night team roping from 6 to 10 p.m. in the Indoor Arena at the Bannock County Event Center in Pocatello. Admission is free.

    Dethklok is set to play at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at the Mountain America Center, 1690 Event Center Drive in Idaho Falls. Dethklok is a virtual death metal band created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha for the television show Metalocalypse. The band is sometimes cited as an example of “comedy rock” on par with bands such as GWAR or Spinal Tap, though the overtly comedic aspects of the band are usually reserved for show episodes.     Thursday, May 2The Yellowstone Restaurant, 230 W. Bonneville St. in Pocatello, hosts live jazz featuring Freddy Gildersleeve and rotating guests every Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Y Lounge.

    Station Square, 200 S. Main St. in Pocatello, hosts open mic night every Thursday from 7 to 10 p.m.

    The Idahoan: EDM Night will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at The Gem, 216 1st St. in Idaho Falls. Get ready for an electrifying evening of electronic dance music at EDM Night, hosted at The Gem, Idaho Falls’ premier live event venue. Whether you’re an aspiring DJ or a devoted EDM enthusiast, this bi-weekly event promises a night filled with pulsating beats, high-energy vibes, and a thriving sense of community.     Thursday-Saturday, May 2-4Vintage Market Days will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, May 2-3, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Eastern Idaho State Fairgrounds in Blackfoot. Come shop over 100 vendors filling up 200 booth spaces, bringing you all things vintage, antique, home decor, seasonal decor, gifts, clothing, jewelry, food trucks, live music and more.     Friday, May 3The Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel in Fort Hall will host a Cinco de Mayo Street Fair from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, May 3, in the Chief Center parking lot.

    The Stump, in the alley behind 508 N. Main St. in Pocatello, will host its 2024 season reopening from 4 to 11 p.m. Friday, May 3. It is a family-friendly, pet-friendly, backyard beer garden and food truck live music venue tucked away in the heart of Historic Downtown Pocatello. SewerLidd will be kicking off the live music lineup for the season, playing from 6-8pm.

    The May First Friday Art Walk will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 3, featuring art, music, food, fashion and more in over 20 downtown Pocatello shops and restaurants. Admission is free. This month’s event guide will be available at historicdowntownpocatello.com on Thursday, May 2.

    Lupita Infante, who has an elegant and graceful style reminiscent of Mexico’s classic mariachi crooners, is coming to the Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel in Fort Hall at 8 p.m. Friday, May 3. Ticket prices run from $39 to $59 and can be purchased at shobangaming.yapsody.com.

    Friday & Saturday, May 3-4Southeast Idaho Days will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 3, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. May 4. There are lots of activities, so visit pocatelloevents.com for the full schedule. Admission is free.

    Slaughter’s Realm Haunted Attraction, 405 NE Main St. in Blackfoot, will host a Halfway to Halloween event from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 3 and 4. More information and online ticketing is available at slaughtersrealm.com.

    Saturday, May 4NeighborWorks Pocatello will host the annual Community-Wide Spring Cleanup starting at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the NeighborWorks Pavilion at Caldwell Park where you will receive a free hot breakfast and your cleanup assignment.

    The Portneuf Valley Farmers Market will open for the season on Saturday, May 4, at Lookout Point in downtown Pocatello. The market will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through October,

    The Teton Dam Tune-Up is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at 35 N. First E. in Rexburg. This race is to get you ready for the Teton Dam Marathon and its races.     Deleta Skating, 520 Yellowstone Ave. in Pocatello, will celebrate Star Wars Day, Saturday, May 4, with two themed sessions: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 7 to 11 p.m. Enjoy themed food, music and games, lightsaber battles and character meet-and-greets. Admission is $12.

    Pocatello GroceryOutlet,1732 Hurley Drive in Pocatello, will host a May the Fourth Beer Tasting from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4. They’ll have a variety of beers, ciders and seltzers, along with some tasty snacks and some fun swag.

    Captain Bengal’s Comic Cove, 348 N.Third Ave. in Pocatello, will take part in Free Comic Book Day, a national holiday where comic shops hand out free comics provided by the comic distributors, from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 4. In addition, the shop has invited local artists, crafters, vendors and food trucks, bringing a mini comic convention to Pocatello.

    Tylor & the Train Robbers — Album Release Show will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at Steele-n-Jo’s Bone (Bone Store), 1672 Bone Road in Iona. For the past decade, Tylor & the Train Robbers have been blazing trails, carving a path through the heartland with their roots country and Americana music. For tickets, go to tinyurl.com/mrx6xpwu.

    Local Scout units will host a Scout Expo from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Portneuf Wellness Complex’s Pavilion No. 3 in Pocatello. The free community event will feature around a dozen activities for youth and families with the theme “Why the Outdoors.” Planned activities include canoeing, fishing, marble racers, monkey bridge, knots and lashings, climbing wall, rain-gutter regatta, archery, Lego derby, search and rescue gear and vehicles, ham radio demonstration and more.

    Sunday, May 5Pocatello Downs Flat Track Horse Races return to the Bannock County Event Center in Pocatello starting Sunday, May 5. Gates open at 3 p.m., and the first post time is 4 p.m. Admission is $5, and children 12 and younger get in free. Special Cinco de Mayo concessions will be available.

    Monday, May 6The Pocatello Food Truck Round-Up is open from 4 to 8 p.m. every Monday at Lookout Point through September.

    A flower watercolor painting class is scheduled for 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, May 6, at Teton Arts Studio, 110 Rodeo Drive in Driggs.     The Pocatello High School band’s annual Jazz Dinner will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 6, in the school’s Palace Gymnasium.
