Bandon woman arrested after report of assault on Rosa Road, south of Bandon
On May 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a report of an assault which occurred at a residence on Rosa Road just south of Bandon. Deputy S. Starr responded to the location and conducted an investigation into the incident. The suspect was identified as Denise M. Fuller (48) of Bandon. After the investigation, Denise was arrested on the charge of Assault IV. Denise was transported to the Coos County Jail, where she was booked and remains in custody.

28-year-old felon facing attempted murder after Coos County shooting
MYRTLE POINT, Ore. – A 28-year-old convicted felon is facing more charges after reportedly firing a gun into an occupied vehicle on Old Highway 42. According to the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, police responded to the call just before 2 a.m. on Thursday morning. When the sergeant arrived he found out that 28-year-old Blaine Monson had allegedly fired multiple rounds from a handgun at another person who was driving away from Monson on the highway.

N. 7th Street & Ivy Avenue Road Closure
The City of Coos Bay is in the process of upgrading the existing wastewater treatment plant, located at 680 Ivy Street. The contractor performing the work is McClure and Sons Incorporated. The construction activities will require the closure of N. 7th Street and Ivy Street from Hemlock Avenue to the intersection at 6th Street. The duration of the closure will be dependent on the work schedule for this phase of construction and is expected to extend as long as six months. It is anticipated for the road closure to begin the second week of May and continue through October of 2024. Coos County total payroll employment rose by 130 jobs in March
Job gains were small but dispersed among several industries. Those adding jobs included leisure and hospitality; transportation, warehousing, and utilities; and retail trade, each adding 20 jobs over the month. Coos County Jail opening to 98 beds
Since Sheriff Fabrizio’s election, he and his command staff have tirelessly worked to rehire Corrections and Patrol Deputies who were lost to attrition, retirements, and better-paying departments. This collective effort is a testament to their dedication and the value they place on public safety. Since the beginning of 2023, the Sheriff’s Office has rehired 27 percent of overall staff, and these deputies have been fully trained, allowing the Coos County Jail to double its capacity from 49 beds to 98 beds on April 27th at 8 a.m. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office is excited about adding this additional jail space, which will assist the Sheriff’s Office and local law enforcement agencies in combating crime within Coos County and beyond.
Woman arrested on multiple charges and warrants
On Sunday, April 28th, 2024, at approximately 12:31 pm, Deputy M.R. Smith was notified of a theft at the Spinreel day-use area. An individual reported a 5-gallon gas can stolen from their truck.
