SOLOMONS, Md. – Earlier this morning, authorities responded to a dreadful incident at the Thomas Johnson Bridge that resulted in the loss of life. Police were alerted at 1:09 a.m. of an abandoned vehicle at the top of the bridge, left running and unattended. WALDORF, Md. – Emergency personnel responded to a severe motor vehicle accident on Mattawoman Beantown Road near Council Oak Drive at about 5:35 p.m. on May 15, 2024. A 911 caller reported that a vehicle attempted to make a U-turn and was struck by another vehicle. Upon arrival, crews found the T-Bone style collision showing smoke in the median. One occupant was trapped, unconscious, but breathing, and suffering from injuries.
