Otsego awards bid for street project
The Otsego City Council has awarded the contract for the 2024 Street Renewal Project to the low bidder, Knife River Corporation of Sauk Rapids. Ten bids were received, ranging from $919,516 to $1,199,949. The project will include the improvement of streets within Vasseur’s Oak Grove 3rd and 4th Additions and Halls 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Additions.

Sherburne County salutes law enforcement during National Police Week
May 12-18 has been designated as National Police Week in Sherburne County by the County Board of Commissioners, to recognize all law enforcement personnel and to honor the service and sacrifice of those officers killed in the line of duty. Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office Commander Ben Zawacki read the National Police Week 2024 proclamation at the May 7 County Board meeting. A photograph taken at the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge near Zimmerman is featured in the latest issue of the “Minnesota Conservation Volunteer” magazine. The photo is of a bee feeding on prairie alumroot at the refuge. It was taken by Nicole Gerjets of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Sixteen fire service recruits graduated from the Elk River Fire Academy in an April 24 ceremony at Zabee Theater inside Elk River High School.
