This Californian city’s logo drama is getting even messier
Last month, the City of Visalia unveiled its new logo design – much to the dismay of its residents. The Californian city had previously held on to its traditional logo for over 20 years, so when the change was announced it was natural that some folks had strong opinions (many of them negative).
The Source LGBT+ Center secures $600K grant
VISALIA – The Source LGBT+ Center in Visalia has announced that it will receive a $600,000 three-year grant from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). The $600,000 award is part of the CDPH’s pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) initiation and retention initiative, which will award over $19 million in grants to 24 organizations across the state. The initiative is focused on increasing access to and utilization of PrEP and PEP among populations at highest risk for HIV. The grant funding period starts May 2024 and ends June 2027.

Individuals with special needs plus their families and caregivers are invited to enjoy exclusive swim sessions at the Porterville City Pool. The sessions will take place on Saturday, June 15 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and July 27 from 5:30- 7:30 p.m. The sessions will offer a safe, fun, and judgment-free environment.
Lindsay seeks applications to replace Caudillo on council
At the Lindsay City Council meeting on May 28, Mayor Ramona Caudillo announced she could no longer to serve on the council as she would no longer be living in the city. The city stated it was thankful for her many contributions to the community and also announced it's now accepting applications to fill Caudillo's council seat. Premium Blossom cannabis dispensary officially opens
Porterville is now at its capacity for cannabis dispensaries after the Porterville Chamber of Commerce celebrated the official opening of Premium Blossom on Main Street at the corner of Main and Mill on Saturday morning.
