At about 2:40 p.m. Monday, Tulare County Sheriff's Deputies were called to Rups Market in the 1500 Block of E. Springville in Porterville for a carjacking. When they arrived, Deputies learned the suspect dragged his girlfriend out of the store and forced her into the back of the car. The victim was able to escape unharmed. But the suspect drove off.

Francisco Rodriguez, 27, received a 25-to-life sentence on Monday in Tulare County Superior Court following his conviction last month for a fatal shooting at a Visalia gas station on Lovers Lane.
