Major train derailment in Wyandotte, Okla.

WYANDOTTE, Okla. (KOAM) — A major BNSF train derailment in NE Oklahoma alerted countless Fire and EMS agencies about 7:40 p.m. Saturday evening.

Amazingly no one was injured. About 20 cars derailed. On scene we observe they were all hauling railroad ties traveling westbound, Missouri into Oklahoma.

The derailment blocks Main Street and E 153rd Road in Wyandotte. This is almost directly south 1/2 mile of the Turtle Stop near Riverbend Casino on US-60.

“ Please stay away from the scene so that emergency and RR personnel may do their work ,” Wyandotte OEM remind.
