Driver arrested for DUI allegedly drove 100 MPH through 45 MPH construction zone
Colorado State Patrol recently reported that they arrested a speeder going more than twice the speed limit while allegedly intoxicated – in a construction zone. On the evening of May 7, the Colorado Springs branch of CSP shared an image from an arrest that involved a driver traveling an alleged 100 miles per hour in a 45 mile-per-hour speed limit construction zone. Power restored to over 10,000 customers after wind storm
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado Springs Utilities worked to restore everyone’s power after a wind storm on Monday damaged power lines and utility poles. Early Monday morning, about 10,400 customers experienced power outages because of the wind. Utilities held a press conference Tuesday morning to update people on their progress. During this conference, Utilities officials said they were about to decrease outages by 95%, leaving 400 people without power. As of early Tuesday evening, that number has been reduced to just over 40 people without power.
Crash closes part of Highway 94 east of Colorado Springs Wednesday morning
EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A serious crash had part of a busy highway closed during Rush Hour Wednesday morning east of Colorado Springs. Just before 7:30 a.m., the Colorado Department of Transportation announced eastbound Highway 94 was closed at Marksheffel for a crash. Details on possible injuries were not available last time this article was updated at 7:28 a.m.

Ute Pass Elementary students release trout they raised from eggs
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO)--On Wednesday, students from Ute Pass Elementary in Manitou Springs were treated to an outdoor lecture and released trout they had raised from eggs. More than 30 students released about 75 trout into the water at Fields Park as part of a program with Colorado Trout Unlimited.
Frost and freeze for parts of the Denver metro area

We have a First Alert Weather Day through Wednesday morning for the cold plunge expected tonight.We have a Frost Advisory posted from midnight tonight through 8am Wednesday morning for the Denver Metro Area , the northern I-25 urban corridor out to Limon and down into Colorado Springs. Where low temperatures may dip down to near 31 degrees overnight into Wednesday morning. There is also a Freeze Warning for colder lows making it as low as 28 degrees for southern Highlands Ranch over to southeast Aurora and down to the north side of Colorado Springs.There is also a Freeze Warning for the Grand Valley in Western Colorado through 10am on Wednesday. Temperatures there may drop as low as 26 degrees by morning.
