Fallen veterans honored in Streetsboro ceremonies
Veterans groups honored fallen soldiers Sunday in Streetsboro as they traveled in their annual "Round Robin" visit to various sites for observances. Among the stops was a service Sunday morning at Evergreen Cemetery, where American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts. From there, the group traveled to Woodside Lake Park, where wreaths were laid in the water in honor of those who died at sea. Many other Portage County-area communities hosted events to honor fallen soldiers on Sunday and Monday.

A nutritious lunch will be available at no cost to all kids at the Warren Library on weekdays between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. this summer. Members of the rock band Apocalyptic Lovers recently made a surprise visit to the Austintown Middle School Choir to drop off thank-you packages to kick off the summer. In October 2023, Choir Director Megan Keown and her students recorded backing vocals for the Youngstown-based four-member rock band’s newest album, “And the World Tomorrow,” slated for release at the end of June.
