WILMINGTON, N.C. — The East Carolina softball team is set for its final game of a four-game road swing on Wednesday evening when the Pirates face off against UNC Wilmington at Boseman Field.

First pitch is set for 5 p.m. and the game will be streamed via FloSoftball.

Emma Jackson leads the Pirates at the plate, batting .424 (2nd in AAC) and tallying 64 hits (1st in AAC/t-5th in NCAA) along with 22 doubles (1st in AAC/1st in NCAA) and 44 RBI (1st in AAC). Jackson was named the 14th best outfielder in the country by Softball America for the month of April and is closing in on tying the single-season doubles program record of 26 set by Kate Manuse in 2004.

In addition to Jackson, the Pirates have four other starters who are batting .350 or higher in Morgan Johnson (.368), Taylor Woodring (.363), Anna Sawyer (.359) and Kanisha Anderson (.353). Taylor Apple leads ECU in the circle with a 2.52 ERA and 92 strikeouts (3rd in AAC) to go along with seven complete games while Addy Bullis sports a 2.85 ERA with 46 strikeouts.

Last Time Out
ECU is coming off of a 10-2 defeat in six innings in its rubber match with Tulsa on Sunday. After falling 2-1 to the Golden Hurricane in the series opener, ECU downed Tulsa 5-2 behind Mary-Kathryn Scott’s first home run of the season but the Pirates were unable to contain the American’s leading offense on Sunday afternoon in the run-rule loss.

Scouting the Seahawks
UNC Wilmington enters Wednesday’s contest off of a 2-1 loss to North Carolina A&T that snapped the Seahawks’ six-game winning streak. Cassidy Relay leads the Seahawks at the plate with a .359 batting average while Skylar Stockton has a team-high three home runs to go along with 17 RBI. The Seahawks have a strong one-two punch in the circle with Kara Hammock (1.80 ERA) and Emily Winstead (1.85 ERA) as the duo has combined for 21 of UNCW’s 23 wins this season.

Series History
The Pirates lead the all-time series with the Seahawks 82-22 and have won the last two meetings at Boseman Field, both of which took place last season as ECU won by a combined score of 16-2 in the two games.
