WILKES-BARRE TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they arrested a man when he tried to change his appearance to evade officers after a Wegman’s retail theft.

According to the Wilkes-Barre Township Police Department, on April 23 around 4:30 p.m., officers arrested Dannie Lee Darling, 31, of New York after a reported retail theft.

Driver arrested, meth and various drugs seized

Police say Darling was stopped after he tried to push out $730 worth of items. Several women were with Darling during the alleged crime and all suspects fled on foot.

Officers stated they found Darling in the neighboring Plaza after he tried to alter his appearance.

Darling has been charged with retail theft.
