    Greek Food Festival kicks off in Wilkes-Barre

    WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — If you’re in the mood for delicious Greek food, this is the week for you.

    The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on East Ross Street in Wilkes-Barre is holding its Greek Food Festival Wednesday through Friday.

    The Luzerne County church has been around for over 100 years, and they hold this fundraiser twice a year.

    Camelback Resort to host job fair this weekend

    The church encourages people to pre-order online or by phone with a pickup time then swing in and grab your order.

    “The Greek cuisine that we include in this festival, so we have very popular things. We have the stuffed grape leaves with the other lemon sauce on them. We have a chicken dinner. We have a, Gyro sandwiches, we have pasta, which is like a layered ground beef with the pasta and the sauce on top,” said President of the Church Council and Cook Tom Iliadis.

    The Greek Orthodox Church has been doing this mini Greek Food Festival for over 15 years.

    The money goes back into the church to help with their community outreach events.
