WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The FM Kirby Center in Downtown Wilkes-Barre hosted a show and tell Monday.

Back in October, the lower level of the Kirby Center was damaged by six feet of water due to a water main break.

The damage even cut power to the building, and offices, gallery space, and the Mohegan Lounge were all damaged.

Since then, crews have been working to restore the majestic theatre , and on Monday afternoon, the staff showed off the work being done.

“With most nonprofits, it takes years of planning to raise funds, to figure out how you’re going to rebuild something for the next 50 years. We had overnight to make these decisions. And we’re doing as much as we can to make it perfect for our showgoers and make it make the most sense for our business today, and a lot of that ends up coming out of our pocket. But we want to do it right, so we’re just asking for the community to support us and to support this beloved building and just help us get to the next 50 years,” said Executive Director of the FM Kirby Center Joell Yarmel.

The FM Kirby Center also had a full house as the rock group Primus performed Monday night at 8:00 p.m.
