The Wichita Area Skin Cancer Screening Clinic is returning Saturday, May 4, to KU School of Medicine-Wichita, offering free skin cancer checks to the community. More than 300 people received free screenings last year at the free clinic, which is provided by Wichita-area dermatologists.

The free clinic will be from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 4, at the east entrance at KU School of Medicine-Wichita, 1001 N. Minneapolis, Wichita, KS 67214.

The popular clinic is provided in partnership with the American Academy of Dermatology, KU School of Medicine-Wichita, United Way of the Plains and the Medical Society of Sedgwick County.

Since the start of this free clinic, which is in its 34th year, local dermatologists have screened more than 10,000 patients. Of those patients, approximately 43% were diagnosed with a cancerous or pre-cancerous lesion.

For more information about this clinic, call 316-777-6104 or visit the clinic's Facebook page .
