WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A brief taste of summer-like weather makes its debut in Texoma, although springtime weather remains in the forecast as well.

Overnight low temperatures Saturday night will drop down only near 70 degrees. Wichita Falls will be 68 degrees.

Sunday’s highs will reach into the low to upper 90s across the area, with upper 90s in western counties and low 90s to the east.

Wichita Falls will be 93 degrees, with a heat index value near 97 degrees.

The low-level jet stream will continue to filter in surface moisture and contribute to strong, gusty winds during the next couple of days. Wind gusts on Sunday and Monday will be near 25 to 35 miles per hour across Texoma.

A weak area of low pressure will accentuate a dryline moving across Oklahoma on Sunday night, triggering a slight chance for severe thunderstorms at level 1 out of 5, primarily around Jackson County.

In the meantime, the next “cold” front should arrive by Wednesday, likely keeping high temperatures in the mid- to upper 80s, along with chances for showers and thunderstorms.
